We work with a lot of departments, so we do not send everyone to the same one. Tell us where you live and what you are interested in, and we will work out which fire departments, ambulance squads, or cadet posts near you take junior members, what age they start at, and who to contact.
This form opens an email in your own mail app rather than sending anything from this page. We use what you tell us to find nearby programs and nothing else, we do not pass it to anyone except a department you decide you want to contact, and none of this costs anything.
You do not need us for this. It takes about twenty minutes and the searching is genuinely not hard once you know the words departments use.
Your town's name plus "junior firefighter," "junior member," "youth squad," "cadet program," or "explorer post." Also try the county rather than the town, since squads often cover several municipalities. Check Facebook as well as websites, because a lot of volunteer companies live there.
This works better than email and almost nobody does it. Go to the firehouse or squad building, bring a parent if you want, and ask whether they take junior members. If they do not, they will almost certainly know which neighboring department does.
Your health teacher, a guidance counselor, or the school resource officer will often know about local cadet and junior programs, sometimes because they volunteer themselves. It is a low-cost question to ask.
Compare junior firefighting, volunteer EMS, and cadet posts side by side, including what you would actually be doing in each.
